Scarlett Johansson is an American singer and actress who was born in NYC the city of New York, on November 22nd, 1984. Her acting has earned an acclaim in a diverse spectrum of genres such as historical drama as well as action and thrillers. Johansson was the child of a filmmaker and an architect. She was raised by New York City. Hunter was the twin of her younger sister. At the age of seven an old, the actress started casting for commercials on television. She joined the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute shortly after, and later was a student at the Professional Children's School, Manhattan for further training. At the age of eight old, Johansson starred alongside Ethan Hawke as Sophistry in an Off-Broadway show. When she was nine she made her acting debut in Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson was next seen on screen in Just Cause (1996), however the film Manny & Lo 1996 that was her breakthrough. The film is about two orphaned girls who have fled to escape. The film received critical acclaim for her role in the film as a teen who suffered a disfiguring accident in The Horse Whisperer (1998) as well as further recognition as cynical teen exiled Rebecca in Ghost World (2001). Smith's parents supported her in getting her first role in the acting world when she was just six. She created a commercial with Dannon. Similar to many actors starting out, she chose to refine her skills in the field of theater. She also worked in other productions across the USA, while Wildflower was her first onstage production. Her education was in the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
